NACC Day 2: Robinsky, Avwenagha pulling away from the field

Today was what you might call moving day at the North American Collins Championship (NACC). We're playing three sessions of eight games each before cutting to our Final Four playoff, and in today's middle session, it was time for the top experts to start making their move toward the top of the standings. Come tomorrow, the race for the top four spots is on. Now's the time for the contenders to start contending.

As the day went on, it became clear that two players in particular were making serious moves toward solidifying one of those playoff spots. Rob Robinsky put up his second consecutive 6-2 performance, putting him in first place overall at 12-4, +714; Oshevire Avwenagha, meanwhile, won five games today to move to 12-4 himself. Together, Rob and Oshevire are two games up on the entire field. As Monday gets underway and the playoff race intensifies, we have two clear favorites for the final four spots.

Having said that, we've got eight games to go, and a lot can still change tomorrow.

Here's how the top 10 looks at the moment:

1. Rob Robinsky (12-4, +714)

2. Oshevire Avwenagha (12-4, +76)

3. Wellington Jighere (10-6, +553)

4. Chris Lipe (10-6, +521)

5. John O'Laughlin (10-6, +368)

6. Josh Sokol (10-6, +351)

7. Ben Schoenbrun (10-6, +330)

8. Alec Sjöholm (9-7, +565)

9. Zachary Dang (9-7, +474)

10. Timothy Adamson (9-7, +245)

Most likely, we'll be seeing four of these 10 individuals duke it out in the playoffs on Monday.

But which four?

You'll have to tune in tomorrow and find out.
