OVERVIEW
The North American Collins Championship (NACC) is the premier Collins-only championship Scrabble event in North America in 2026. This event will be the second NACC. The inaugural NACC took place in downtown Seattle in 2023 and crowned Kevin Fraley as the first-ever North American Collins Champion.
TOURNAMENT DETAILS
Directors: Jennifer Clinchy and Evans Clinchy
Stream team: Andrew Kay and Christian Kay
Divisions: This tournament will feature two divisions, with a rating cutoff of 1600. All players with a peak rating of 1600 or higher between Oct. 31, 2025 and Oct. 31, 2026 must play in Division 1. All other players may play up to Division 1 if desired but have the option to compete in Division 2 instead.
Prizes: Generous place and performance prizes will be awarded in both divisions.
Capacity: 80 players
WESPA rating: This tournament will be rated by WESPA.
Parameters: WESPA rules, CSW24 lexicon, 5 points per word challenged
Lodging: You can book a hotel room at the discounted group rate of $189 per night plus taxes and fees here. We expect the room block to fill to capacity, so book your room as soon as you can.

TOURNAMENT FORMAT
MAIN EVENT:
All players will compete in 24 preliminary rounds - 8 each day beginning Friday, Nov. 6 through Sunday, Nov. 8. At the end of 24 rounds, the top 4 players in each division will advance to a "Final Four" single elimination playoff.
The Final Four for each division will take place on Monday, Nov. 9. Each semifinalist will face another semifinalist in a best-of-3 match in the morning. In the afternoon, the two winners will play a best-of-3 match for the championship, and the two remaining semifinalists will play a best-of-3 match for third place.
AFTERWORD:
For players who fall short of qualifying for the Final Four, an optional single-division Afterword tournament will take place on Monday, Nov. 9. This 6-game tournament is free to enter for all players who compete in the Main Event.
Players who wish to play the Afterword only (and not the Main Event) must sign up for the Afterword here and pay an entry fee of $65.
REGISTRATION
Deadline: Registration for the Main Event closes on Friday, Oct. 23. Registration for the Afterword closes on Sunday, Nov. 8.
Entry fee: $240 for CoCo Premium Members, $255 for all others. This fee includes the 6-game Afterword tournament on Nov. 9 for players who do not qualify for the Final Four playoff.
Refunds: Full refunds are available until Saturday, Oct. 24, minus a $5 fee to cover transaction costs.

The tournament will take place at the Marquette Hotel, a Hilton hotel. The Marquette Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Minneapolis, blocks away from major tourist attractions like the historic Orpheum and State Theaters, First Avenue, and the Target Center. It's easily accessible via light rail.
Players can reserve a hotel room at the discounted group rate of $189/night plus taxes and fees using the purple button below. We strongly encourage players to stay at the hotel if they can so that we can fill our room block and allocate as much money as possible to prizes, rather than un-booked rooms.
To maximize accessibility and affordability for this tournament, and to give players the freedom to choose the accommodations that best meet their needs, we are not charging a fee for players who choose to stay in alternate accommodations.
